Mariella Roberts is a professional counselor who helps people take compassionate care of their needs and realize their powerful potential for growth.
Mariella offers individual counseling to English- and Spanish- speaking adults. She has over 30 years of experience working in Mental Health, Addictions, Trauma, Perinatal Mental Health, Integrated Behavioral Health Medicine, and Parenting Education. Mariella has always had a passion for community and also works for a major non-profit community clinic where she contributes to interdisciplinary health care teams. An Afro-Caribbean native of Venezuela, Mariella pronouns are she/her. Mariella received her Bachelors degree in Psychology from the Andres Bello Catholic University and her Masters Degree, also in Clinical Psychology, from Dr. Carlos Arvelo University Hospital, both located in Caracas, the capital city of Venezuela. Mariella feels a strong connection with the outdoors, Buddhist psychology, movement practices, community engagement and animals. Mariella is part of a blended multicultural family, mother and step-mother to adult children, dogs and cats.
Mariella works with most major psychiatric disorders, life transitions, loss and bereavement, perinatal mental health, divorce, coparenting, blended family challenges, and acculturation/suffering associated with being part of a minority group/stress associated with the state of current events in the world.
Mariella is trained on polyvagal-informed practices, energy psychology, emotional freedom techniques, acceptance commitment therapy, mindfulness, meditation, mindful self-compassion, accelerated resolution therapy, and breath work.
